Deacon

As we move forward, the deacon ministry at CCC will be seeing some major changes.  Beginning in January 2012 the focus of the deacon ministry will be to prepare men for future leadership as elder, serve as assistants to the
elders, and help our ministry leaders and teams as needed.    
· To prepare deacons for future leadership deacons will be encouraged to participate in leadership development classes and possibly attend elders meetings as "Elder Apprentices" to prepare themselves for leadership.
· To assist the elders, the deacons will help with shepherding, (hospital visits, home visits etc...) serve as a sounding board for the elders, and be available to step up as needed.
· To help the ministry leaders and ministry teams, the deacons will attend Ministry Counsel meetings and offer assistance as needed. 
While it is not required that a ministry be led by a deacon, deacons will be encouraged to step forward to lead the ministries that they are gifted and passionate to lead.
