Outreach (iReach)

With 2012 being the first year that our new ministry system is in place, our
Outreach ministry has formerly been a mixture of ministries with no centralized
cohesion. Moving forward I am very excited to see these similar ministries join forces under one umbrella or purpose called iReach Ministry here at Cornerstone.

     iReach, what’s iReach? Yes, the “I Craze”  (iPod, iPhone, iPad) has played a role in it’s name looking the way it does, but the intent behind calling it iReach has very little to do with Apple and so much more to do with this ministry’s intent and purpose.

     Many times as Christ followers and members of a church body, we think of
anything having to do with reaching out to others, what the modern world calls “outreach”, as something that “someone else can do...I’m just not cut out for that sort of thing”. Well, “that sort of thing” is exactly what Christ wanted each one of us to do while we are here on earth. In fact, He used His last moments on earth to
emphasize this with His followers.

·  iReach, puts the emphasis of who’s job it really is, back where it should be: on each one of us. iReach also calls each one of us to “un-capitalize” ourselves and exalt the purpose that Christ wants us all to embrace….other people.
· iReach tells us that we all play a vital part in outreach.

     These areas will be our flagship ministries within iReach Ministries.  I know many of you have served, or are serving in these ministries and I value your service and
dedication. Please continue as we set our sights toward the goal of being the hands and feet of Christ.

Now is the time to think outside the box and try new things. I encourage creative thinking so let me know if you have outreach ideas that you would like to see
implemented at Cornerstone.   If you are excited or passionate about helping others, I encourage you to pray for God’s direction, talk to the staff and get plugged in.
